Summary of main purpose of Role

Newcastle College is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, professional to take on the role of Work Experience Coordinator in Business (Further Education). The successful candidate will find suitable work experience placements for learners on a wide range of study programmes and will provide employability skills training to help learners develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to access and secure meaningful work. The role also includes administrative responsibilities and effective communication with partners and employers.
The successful candidate will coordinate and deliver a comprehensive work experience /placement programme. They will support learners to take ownership for the development of their career education in order to successfully achieve their personal aspirations and progress in their working lives. They will develop positive engagement with employers while searching for Business placement opportunities to develop competency within a working environment. A key focus will be to drive work experience opportunities in line with Newcastle College KPI's.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of working with young people in a support capacity and experience of working and building collaborative relationships with employers, businesses and external bodies. They will hold a minimum Level 3 qualification and a qualification relating to the support of learners e.g. Teaching, instructing, coaching, mentoring or Advice and Guidance or willing to undertake. They will also hold a minimum of 5 GCSE's (A-C/9-4) or equivalent including English and maths.
