Work Experience Coordinator

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Work Experience Coordinator to join our Supported Learning team and play a pivotal role in enhancing the educational experience for learners with SEND. The successful candidate will design, develop and maintain high-quality work experience opportunities that build students' confidence, independence and employability skills. Alongside coordinating placements for the general Supported Learning cohort, the postholder will also provide dedicated oversight and pastoral support for students on the Pre-Internship programme, ensuring their two-day-a-week placements are purposeful, safe and aligned to individual progression goals. Key responsibilities:

• Placement coordination - Collaborate with academic staff to identify suitable work experience opportunities for Supported Learning students, including those on the Pre-Internship pathway.
• Employer partnerships - Establish and maintain strong relationships with local businesses and organisations to secure meaningful, inclusive placements.
• Learner preparation - Provide guidance, support and training to prepare students for the workplace including our pre-internship programme.
• Risk management - Conduct risk assessments and ensure all placements offer a safe, supportive and inclusive environment for learners with LLDD/SEND.
• Progress monitoring - Track learner progress, provide feedback and work with staff and employers to address any barriers.
• Record keeping - Maintain accurate records and documentation for all work experience activity.
  
  The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of how to meet the needs of learners with Learning Difficulties and Disabilities, alongside excellent networking skills and a commitment to inclusive practice. You will be passionate about empowering Supported Learning students through safe, structured and meaningful work experience opportunities., SEND experience - Experience of working with learners with Learning Difficulties and Disabilities.

• Communication - Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Health and safety - Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
