Full Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role. We are looking for a student with experience using WordPress to support the Digital Society Research Group (DISC) with maintaining and updating their website: https://digitalsociety.mmu.ac.uk/ You will be responsible for uploading news and events content (provided by the team), updating images and text on existing pages, and making layout changes or creating new pages, as required. The role involves a mix of content editing and web design, ensuring the site remains up to date, accurate, and engaging. You will need experience in UXD, be familiar with Word Press, and able to work independently. You will work closely with three academic staff who run DISC, as well as another student assistant who focuses on disseminating and promoting content. Key Responsibilities

  • Upload and format news, event posts and other updates on the DISC website.
  • Update images and text across existing pages.
  • Make minor layout adjustments when required.
  • Work with the DISC team to ensure content is accurate and presented clearly.

    This role is only open to current Manchester Met Students who meet the following requirements -
  • Evidenced knowledge and experience of WordPress platform, experience of running and editing a Word Press site
  • Ability to work independently and troubleshoot technical issues such as resizing images if required, formatting webpage layout as requested
  • Ability to work in a team, coordinating with the other team members effectively and responsibly
