The Magdalene Group is seeking to employ a Women’s Services Senior Practitioner – Outreach, to provide vital support for women experiencing homelessness, with a primary focus on women who are hidden homeless and who experience rough sleeping; supporting them to find routes out of homelessness and to access and maintain safe and secure housing.
The post holder will be part of the Pathways initiative, and based within the Doorway Women's Service, who have an excellent track record of building trusted relationships with women who have experienced sexual violence and domestic abuse and exploitation.
You will be required to provide outreach support for women who experience multiple disadvantages including poor mental health, isolation and substance use and to work closely with different agencies in response to client need. Collaboration with other agencies to address the unique needs of each woman is a key aspect of this role.
As a senior practitioner you will ensure that high quality, effective and safe services are in place to provide the best support to women. You will act as a point of contact for team members in relation to clients, providing case management and supporting practitioners to advocate clearly in terms of client need.
Safeguarding will be a top priority and you will be responsible for managing safeguarding concerns; overseeing the completion of relevant internal and external safeguarding reporting and assisting with internal safeguarding training and learning sessions.
This role should recognise and address the diverse range of clients’ needs, paying attention to increasing access for those who face barriers to accessing services, including language barriers, racism, disability, sexuality, gender, mental or physical health or substance misuse.
Reporting to: Head of Women’s Services.
Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 FTE.
Hours of Work: Minimum of 30 hours a week, maximum 37.5 hours a week to be discussed and agreed with post holder. This post is primarily frontline working office and community based with some home working. The post will require flexibility with early morning outreach and occasional late evenings.
Annual leave : 27 days plus bank holidays, FTE.
Organisational benefits: Workplace pension contribution 5%, death-in-service benefit, generous leave, employee eye care scheme, 24/7 confidential employee assistance programme, hybrid working, cycle-to-work scheme, organisation-wide away days, career development pathways, training and wellbeing initiatives.
