An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced candidate to join the Medical Department at Norwich City Football Club in the role of Senior Women's Team Physiotherapist. This is a key role within our Women's Football programme and an excellent opportunity for an ambitious physiotherapist looking to take the next step in their career. Leading the day-to-day delivery of medical services for the Women's Team, the successful candidate will gain valuable leadership experience within a fast-paced, high-performance environment while playing a pivotal role in maximising player health, wellbeing, and performance. The role also sits as part of a Club-wide Performance Department that strives to collaborate using with evidence-informed performance principles to help every player and member of staff at Norwich City FC thrive and succeed. The successful candidate will lead the delivery of high quality medical and therapeutic services to Norwich City Women's team and provide additional support to Academy squads. This role will deliver evidence based clinical care, injury prevention, pitch-side cover and rehabilitation in alignment with best practice. Key tasks/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Delivery of the high standard of medical, preventative and therapeutic care to all Women's team.
  • Leading the education of players, helping them to take an active part and responsibility for their health, wellbeing, performance and female health.
  • Lead and deliver excellent standards of assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of all women's team players.
  • Work collaboratively with other performance staff to drive the optimisation of player availability and long-term athletic development.
  • To monitor Women's team players physical, mental wellbeing and female health creating individualised plans in conjunction with the Academy & Women's Physical Performance Coach.
  • Communicating clearly and with key stakeholders to inform on injury availability and return to perform timelines.
  • To provide pitch side care to all Women's team training and matches, leading on medical emergency procedures.

    1. HCPC Registered Physiotherapist
  • 2. Minimum 3 years working within the elite sport environment. 3. Live ITMiF certificate 4. Extensive 'Return to Perform' experiences 5. DBS certified and full driving license 6. Knowledge of UK Anti-Doping regulations Desirable 1. MSc in Physiotherapy or a Sport Science related subject 2. Live ATMiF certificate 3. Recognised strength and conditioning qualification (e.g., NSCA CSCS or UKSCA 4. Experience of working with elite female athletes

    Candidates who are selected for the second interview will be invited to the Avant Training Centre for an in-person interview with the Academy & Women's Physiotherapist Lead and the Head of Women's Football. Candidates will also be asked to create and prepare a presentation to the interview panel with the topic of this confirmed after the first stage selection point. This will be followed by a tour of the training ground where the successful candidate will be based. This interview will last no longer than 90 minutes.
