Women's First Team Physiotherapist - Help shape the future of football at Southampton FC
Southampton FC Women are looking for an experienced and proactive First Team Physiotherapist to play a central role within the club's high-performance environment.
This is an exciting opportunity for a strong practitioner who wants to take the next step in their career. While the core of the role is hands-on physiotherapy delivery, you will also provide day-to-day leadership across the multidisciplinary team, helping to align medical, sports science, player care and coaching support around the First Team.
The club are looking for someone who can bring high professional standards, sound clinical judgement and the confidence to make clear, evidence-based decisions in the best interests of the player.
The impact you'll makeLead the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of First Team playersDeliver progressive and individualised rehabilitation programmes, both in the gym and on the pitchWork closely with the Head Coach, physical performance staff, club doctor and wider MDT to support player availability and performanceLead injury prevention, screening and ongoing player management across the squadProvide matchday and training medical coverSupport pre-signing medicals, clinical reporting and injury auditsHelp bring structure, alignment and consistency across the First Team performance teamCreate engaging and creative rehabilitation environments that keep injured players motivated throughout their return-to-play journeyContribute to player welfare meetings and ensure each player is supported from both a physical and wellbeing perspective

Your skills and experienceBachelor's or Master's degree in PhysiotherapyHCPC registration and CSP membershipExperience working within football, elite sport or a high-performance clinical environmentStrong rehabilitation, injury prevention and pitch-side skillsThe confidence to communicate difficult decisions clearly and provide rationale to players and coachesA collaborative and professional approach, with the ability to build strong relationships across a multidisciplinary teamExcellent organisation, clinical record keeping and attention to detailA creative, individualised approach to rehabilitationLeadership experience, or the ambition and capability to take on greater MDT responsibility
