Wine & Gift Shop Assistant

You will provide an exceptional shopping experience across our Wine, Gift, pop-up and Online shops. Your responsibilities will include:

• Welcoming and engaging with visitors, providing friendly and knowledgeable customer service.
• Developing your wine knowledge and using it to confidently recommend products and maximise sales.
• Hosting regular wine tastings, creating an engaging and enjoyable experience for visitors.
• Taking part in regular wine training and tastings to develop your product knowledge.
• Working alongside our Wine Ambassador to deliver public and private wine tastings and wine-related events.
• Promoting our wine club, tastings, wine dinners and other events.
• Supporting the wider retail team with merchandising, stock replenishment, stocktakes and maintaining high presentation standards.
• Operating tills and processing transactions accurately, with training provided.
• Working flexibly across our retail outlets and supporting colleagues during busy periods.
  
  We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and customer-focused Wine & Gift Shop Assistant to join our Retail team at Waddesdon Manor.
Wine is a key part of this role. You will develop your knowledge of our wines, confidently recommend products to visitors, host wine tastings and support wine-related events. You don't need to be a wine expert when you join us, but you will need a genuine interest in wine and enthusiasm to learn, and we happy to fund the WSET level 2 training., You will be naturally friendly, approachable and confident when speaking with customers. You will enjoy working in a busy, visitor-focused environment and have a genuine enthusiasm for wine. You may already have experience in wine retail or sales, hold a qualification such as WSET, or simply have a strong interest in wine and a desire to learn. You must be willing and able to participate in wine tastings, as this is an essential part of developing your product knowledge and delivering an authentic visitor experience. You will also be a team player with excellent communication skills, good attention to detail and a flexible, proactive approach. Salary: £12.71 per hour Contract: Flexible/Seasonal Hours: Minimum 4 hours per day, Wednesday to Friday, with additional hours as required
