Full Job Description

The purpose of the role is to work independently with allocated tasks both within the department and in the most appropriate community setting to provide an effective and responsive wheelchair maintenance, delivery, collection and repair service for the Dorset Wheelchair Service. All activity must be fully compliant with all relevant national legislation and local Trust policy and procedures. You will contribute to the supply, repair, maintenance and delivery of all types of basic and complex wheelchairs that a multi disciplined service of staff offer our clients.

You will work alongside a small friendly group of people that care passionately about the service that they offer the clients.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.

This is a full time role which may include some weekend working and bank holidays following a rota system if necessary. The post holder may be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service supplying support and practical engineering skills to maintain the wheelchairs that are supplied to our clients across the whole of the county.

The Wheelchair Service RRP for newly recruited staff is £1000 per annum pro rota paid in monthly instalments following a 6 month probational period.
