Do you have a passion for supporting young people to succeed? We are seeking a highly organised, proactive and caring individual to join our Post-16 team as a Student Services, Welfare and Administration Officer. This is a key role at the heart of the college, providing vital support that enables students to thrive both academically and personally. As a visible and trusted presence within Student Services, you will help promote excellent attendance, support student wellbeing and contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of the college. This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with young people, build positive relationships and make a genuine difference to their educational experience and future aspirations. About the Role As a first point of contact for students, you will provide high-quality support across attendance, welfare and student services. Key responsibilities include:

  • Promoting excellent attendance and punctuality across the college.
  • Monitoring attendance, identifying concerns and working with students, parents/carers and staff to improve outcomes.
  • Providing front-of-house support through the Student Services office.
  • Supporting student welfare, first aid and medical needs.
  • Maintaining accurate student records and administrative systems.
  • Working closely with safeguarding, SEND and pastoral colleagues to provide coordinated support for students.

Experience of working with young people in an educational or similar setting.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with students, parents/carers and colleagues.
  • A calm, professional approach and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A commitment to promoting student wellbeing, attendance and achievement.

Elliott Hudson College is an ambitious and high performing 16-19 sixth form college that is committed to raising standards for young people across the Leeds City region. Working as part of The GORSE Academies Trust, Elliott Hudson College has a mission to ensure that its students receive an exceptional education and that they successfully progress to their chosen destination.
  • Within GORSE, we aspire for every young person to acquire the gift of choice and at Elliott Hudson College we are committed to building a community in which all students and staff can thrive. By adopting an approach where we all try to be, and do, a bit better each day, we build a culture of excellence in which all can flourish.

As a trust, we want to ensure that professionals at every stage in their career have the opportunity to enjoy expert support and training. We are pleased to offer a generous benefits package to our team - as we work together to create a rewarding future for all including:
  • Membership of a teacher or local government pension scheme, depending on the role.
  • A commitment to continued investment in our professionals, supporting every member of staff throughout their career in the trust.
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Programme which provides confidential professional advice and support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • £2k Cycle to work scheme.
