Full Job Description
Here at the Brighton Station Health Centre, we operate community general practices on behalf of the NHS, offering patients the full range of services they would expect from a local GP. We work in partnership with the NHS to ensure that patients get quick and easy access to the care they need at the right time. This position is a part time role, offering circa 24 hours per week covering Saturday's and Sunday's. We will be looking for you to work within the hours of 7:45am-8:15pm Here at Practice Plus Group, we are looking for x2 Patient Services Advisors to join us in our practice based in the vibrant Brighton centre. You will be working on a permanent, part time basis. You would be the first point of contact for all patients at the practice. This would include booking appointments using the system, greeting patients on arrival and notifying the appropriate clinician. While in the waiting room, the patients would be in your care, and so you would need to observe them and notify the appropriate staff should they need immediate health requirements., You would receive patient enquiries via email, phone and in person, helping in a courteous manner. Some conversations may be of a delicate nature, so you would have to maintain confidentiality at all times as well as be empathetic. As you would be manning the reception desk, you would be ensuring it and the surrounding area is tidy and above all safe. You would be accurately keeping records and completing clerical duties such as filing, photocopying and faxing. You will also be processing repeat prescriptions where necessary. The Patient Service Advisor will be responsible for the general administrative and receptionist functions within the Practice. Work within set routines, policies and procedures to provide a comprehensive high quality service to the practice, and able to deal efficiently and courteously with patients and relatives enquiries. The successful candidate will process and request repeat prescriptions, book and amend patient appointments, have an overview of the demands and workflow of the practice and work with the Practice Manager in daily management of appointments.
The ideal candidate will have previous administration experience and a similar setting and in GP Practice. As well as experience in advising patients/relatives, and the ability to exercise judgement when dealing with patient enquiries. Knowledge/experience with EMIS the web clinical system and strong computer/administrative skills would also be advantageous.
