Full Job Description

We are looking for someone to join our Web Content Team; this is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about website management, customer care and all things digital! We want someone who can update and continuously review and revise the Huntingdonshire District Council website (as well as other relevant council-owned websites) as appropriate; ensuring the content is up to date and is relevant yet compelling to our customers. Day-to-day tasks involve assigning service requests (we use Hornbill), communicating with the services regarding their web requests, and providing their updates in a timely manner and to a high standard. Providing administrative support, such as assisting external customers with their website queries in a professional manner and logging the data. Capturing website statistics (we use Silktide) and being able to produce reports. Also, being continuously aware of website accessibility and maintaining the high standards we aim for. We work and collaborate with all services within the council, ensuring that their service area content on the website is up to date; therefore, we want someone with good communication and administrative skills, as well as good time management.,

  • Assign and action service requests from our internal customers (Hornbill)
  • Respond to external customer emails who have website queries
  • Provide administrative support to the Web Content Team
  • Ensure that web content is maintained to maximise the benefits to the council and its customers.

    You will have an interest in websites, digital and customer care, as well as an understanding of what government websites need to provide
  • Be competent in using Outlook, Word, Excel and Adobe PDF
  • Have good grammar and have an eye for what looks appealing yet professional
  • Be a team player; we are a small team and have pride in the work we do, in providing a high standard to our internal and external customers
  • Must be confident and able to communicate with services about what we think is best for the website, and also communicate with external customer queries
  • Have good time management and deliver service requests in a timely manner
  • Have an understanding of capturing website statistics
  • Have an understanding of accessibility, as this is essential in terms of maintaining a council website.
  • An offer of employment is conditional upon having the right to work in the UK. HDC does not hold a Sponsorship Licence and is unable to provide a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) or take over sponsorship for any role.
