Water Technician Apprenticeship

Introduction

Become a qualified Water Hygiene Technician with TBG through a 3-year apprenticeship. Gain industry-recognised qualifications while combining 4 days of hands-on training with 1 day at a training provider, followed by 12 months of on-the-job development.

What You'll Do

• Undertaking monitoring and inspections of tanks and water systems
• Monthly temperature monitoring
• Weekly checks on flushing systems
• Chlorification of hot water cylinders
• Taking water samples for TVC (Total Viable Count) bacteria control in hot and cold water systems
• Liaising with independent laboratories
• Developing understanding of the flushing rates, heat, and use of thermometers
• Maintenance of Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMV). Ensuring digital values are accurate. Checks, six monthly servicing and annual inspections
• Shower head cleaning, descaling and quarterly disinfections
• Develop an understanding HSL risk assessments and undertaking remedial works

Working Arrangements

Working Week: Age 16 & 17 - Monday to Friday 8.00am - 5.00pm and incorporates an unpaid lunch break of one hour. Age 18 and above - Monday to Friday 8.00am - 5.30pm and incorporates an unpaid lunch break of one hour.
