- Experience of working in waste management, street cleansing, environmental services, grounds maintenance, highways, logistics, or a similar frontline operational environment.
- Experience of driving work vehicles safely and carrying out daily vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements, safe working practices, manual handling techniques, and the importance of maintaining a safe working environment.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team, using initiative to prioritise tasks and respond to changing operational demands.
- Good communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with residents, businesses and colleagues, including handling difficult situations calmly and respectfully.
- The ability to undertake physically demanding outdoor work in all weather conditions, including lifting, carrying, walking and operating equipment for prolonged periods.
- Experience of using handheld devices, mobile technology or digital systems to record work activities and report issues.
- A flexible and positive approach to work, with a willingness to support a variety of environmental and cleansing services to meet operational priorities.
