The successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth running of their shift, leading a team of colleagues, ensuring staff are briefed and managed in accordance with Yusen Procedures within a busy warehouse environment.,

• Responsible for the running of the shift - ensuring staff follow SSoWs and SWIs.
• As directed, safely handle products through all inbound and outbound processes, ensuring all company procedures are adhered to
• Ensure all goods are handled in the correct manner to ensure that damage to kept to a minimum and manual handling techniques are followed to prevent injury and harm
• Carry out any other reasonable requests to support the effective running of the warehouse, including manually supporting the team with tasks as and when required
• Ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered to, including PPE, taking appropriate action where procedures are not being adhered to or could be improved
• Ensure all equipment checks are carried out in accordance with procedure, taking appropriate action to ensure a safe working environment for all employees
• Ensure that all MHE is used in an appropriate manner, identifying and arranging relevant training to ensure there are sufficient numbers of trained employees to meet business demands
• Ensure all company procedures are adhered to, including ER procedures, such as absence and performance management, standards of behaviour, disciplinary, PDR etc, supporting with investigations and disciplinary
Hearings as necessary
• Review the training and development needs of functional employees to ensure that employees are trained to the required standards
• Looking at continuous improvement with knowledge of Kaizen and/or 5S highly advantageous
  
  Previous experience of leading a team in a fast-moving operation
• Previous warehouse experience in front line management
• Previous experience of HR processes such as return to work & disciplinary & grievance processes
• Awareness of manual handling techniques is essential
• Able to lift weights of up to 25k
• Previous experience MS Excel & knowledge / operational experience of WMS SCALE
• Experience of using RF scanners
• Counterbalance, Reach or T2 experience/licence is advantageous
• Must be flexible and proactive with the ability to work in a team
• 1st aider & fire marshal trained is desirable

  The role offers a salary of £36,053.05 per annum plus £832 shift allowance per annum, with a Monday to Friday shift pattern 1400 - 2200., 22 holiday days per year moving to 25 days following the completion of 5 full holiday years.
