Full Job Description
Our client urgently requires two Warehouse Team Leaders to work for a local company based in Peterborough. Hours are rotating shifts of 06.00-14.00pm and 14.00-22.00pm Monday to Friday. Pay rate is £14.88 per hour +£47.00 per week freezer supplement. It is a 37.50 hours per week but working hours must be flexible as shift changes and weekend working is required durring busy periods. How will you be measured:
- Achieving reduction in error rate YOY
- Pick accuracy rate of 99.5% or above.
- OTIF rate maintained at 99.5% or above
- GMP monthly hygiene audit of 95% or above
- Effective management of direct reports
- YOY reduction in waste and damages
- YOY Accident and incident reduction
- Displaying the Company Values Facts and figures about your role
- Warehouse team of 6 to 10
- Warehouse space of Frozen - 9120 sq metres Chilled - 6180 sq metres Ambient - 6980 sq metres
- Working with various temperature ranges
- MHE consisting of Powered Pallet Truck, Counterbalance, Reach Truck and Man Up. In this role you are accountable for:
- To lead, motivate and supervise a team of warehouse operatives to ensure they work effectively to meet customer demands.
- Manage the day-to-day activities within the warehouse whilst being able to involve themselves in practical work on the warehouse floor as required.
- Daily management of a team of warehouse operatives and agency staff on shift through planning resources to ensure activities on shift are achieved.
- Carry out staff daily brief detailing current day's workload, any specific communication points and allocate duties, as necessary.
- Monitor hygiene and housekeeping and promote a clean as you go policy to ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained
- Ensure all equipment within the warehouse is well maintained and in safe working order.
- Ensure compliance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and oversee working practices ensuring temperature checks, equipment checks, correct stock rotation etc is maintained.
- Undertake MHE duties as required, ensuring daily safety checks are carried out thoroughly.
- Assist with regular and spot stock takes as required.
- Follow the requirements of the Standard Operating Procedures for the safe and legal handling of food
- Take reasonable care of both your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions, ensuring all company safety and quality systems are adhered to. Raising concerns and reporting any incidents to your manager.
- Ensuring all waste is segregated and disposed of in line with the company processes, recycling wherever possible.
- Where applicable conducting investigations in line with the Company's disciplinary procedure.
- Dealing with poor performance, attendance and general misconduct in line with Company policies
- Conduct site walk rounds frequently and report any issues as required
- Complete handover reports to be passed on to the next shift

- Operational warehouse experience
- Team Leader experience
- Experience of hygiene procedures, standards and equipment in the chilled food industry
- Experience of working with standard operating procedures
- Understanding of Health & Safety legislation
- Strong communication skills, including verbal and written
- Good computer skills
- A 'Can do' attitude and proactive approach
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach and flexible in a busy changing environment
- Be able to lead, motivate, supervise and develop staff to ensure effective working
- Good time management with an ability to your manage own and your teams workload within pre-set deadlines
- Demonstrate good people management skills, leading by example and able to engage with colleagues at all levels
- Ability to handle pressure in a time sensitive environment
- Good numeracy skills
