Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Warehouse Operative in our Reuse team at our warehouse in Northampton. The role supports the effective processing of donated textiles and other goods by sorting, grading, and preparing items for reuse, resale, or recycling. Ideally the candidate must have experience of working within a warehouse team and working on more than one operation.,
- Sort, grade, and categorise donated textiles (clothing, linens, accessories) according to quality, condition, and resale potential.
- Carry out safe moving and handling of donation bags, boxes, and pallets within the warehouse.
- Ensure all textile donations are processed efficiently to meet daily and weekly throughput targets.
- Assist with unloading incoming donations from vans and other vehicles.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines, including safe manual handling practices.
Awareness of health and safety requirements within a warehouse operation. - Experience working in a warehouse, retail, or donation processing environment.
- Strong attention to detail when sorting and assessing textiles.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to understand how sorting activity impacts warehouse service levels and KPIs.
- Numerate and able to follow stock tracking processes., Experience using basic computer systems; familiarity with online selling platforms is beneficial.
