DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking an experienced Warehouse Operative to play a vital role coordinating our daily warehouse and distribution requirements. WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL? As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will: Undertake the manual handling, distribution and monitoring of materials in a bulk storage and warehouse environment. Be responsible for picking and packing specified items from storage and prepare them for shipment. Stock Counts (Perpetual Inventory - PI), General Housekeeping and occasional overtime to cover absence & holidays
- Previous practical experience as a Warehouse Operative, within a logistics environment or similar role and be familiar with all Manual Handling Procedures
- Counterbalance Fork Lift Truck experience is ESSENTIAL for this role.
- Previous experience of the preparation and distribution of volume orders
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage your own workload
- Reach truck experience preferred but but not essential
- Manual Handling Equipment experience (MHE)
- Experience of using a computer to book stock in and out using a computerised stock control system (ESSENTIAL)
- Experience of using Microsoft office applications such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint would be preferred
- Full driving license (ESSENTIAL)
