Full Job Description
We are seeking a volunteer Warden for Lay Ministry to share in the promotion of lay ministry in the Diocese of Chichester.
Our Apostolic Life team lead our mission and ministry across Sussex and help us live out our vision to "Know, Love and Follow Jesus". Our Warden of Lay Ministry will enable and support Readers and Authorised Lay Ministers (ALMs) in the delivery of their valuable and important ministry across the Diocese.
This is a voluntary role is for three years (renewable) and the time commitment is expected to be 2-3 days a month.
Working collaboratively with the Officer for Lay Ministry and Training, your principal duties will include:
+ Developing resources for continuing ministerial development
+ Overseeing Reader MDR (Ministerial Development Reviews)
+ Ensuring the provision of pastoral care for lay minsters
+ Helping to organise Reader Licensing services and ALMs commissioning services
+ Have completed a recognised theological qualification such as Licenced Lay Ministry, Authorised Lay Ministry, Church Army
+ A strong knowledge and understanding of the Church of England and the relationship between lay ministry and mission
+ Experience of providing support, guidance or mentoring to individual and groups
+ Be committed to collaborative working with a professional, positive and friendly approach
