Ward Sister / Charge Nurse - Ward 5b Band 6

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a band 6 registered nurse to join our innovative team on ward 5b where we care for patient's requiring surgical assessment. Emergency surgical nursing is an interesting, challenging and rewarding specialty where there is opportunity to enhance knowledge and clinical skills as well as deliver fundamental aspects of nursing care. We are looking for a highly motivated, organised nurse who is forward-thinking and wants to work within a highly regarded multi-disciplinary team. As a team we are always looking to improve and develop our service. We strive to offer safe, effective and outstanding care to our patients using evidence-based practice. We are looking for an approachable and friendly individual who prides themselves on developing others by assisting with teaching and staff development., We are looking for an enthusiastic registered nurse with an interest in general surgery, excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a part of a team. Applicants should have the ability to lead on, prioritise and manage the health care needs of a group of patients, showing commitment to develop competencies and specialist skills of their own and other team members. Candidates should be supportive to all bands and members of the multidisciplinary team with whom we work closely. They should also be willing to support and supervise junior and less experienced staff and students, acting as a role model. We are looking for a special person with the ability to communicate effectively, with excellent time management skills and the confidence and competence to work both independently and within the team.
