An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sister/Charge Nurse to join our Department of Medicine for Older People team on Ward 5B 5B is a 36 bedded Medicine for Older People ward based on level 5 at Whiston Hospital. Specialising in dementia and end of life care. Working as part of the multi-disciplinary team to assess, implement and evaluate care needs for patients on an acute medical ward. There will be opportunity to expand your knowledge and skills working closely with an experienced and highly skilled multi-disciplinary team. The post holder must be flexible, as you will be expected to work flexible shifts covering a 7 day service An Enhanced DBS Certificate with both the Children's and Adults' Barred Lists is required for this post.Main duties of the job Provides clinical and managerial leadership to nursing and support staff, may ensure effective running of ward/department in the absence of Department Ward Manager. To provide advice and support for colleagues to plan, monitor, implement and evaluate skilled and appropriate care for patients and ensure the provision of evidence-based practice. To work within the NMC Code and professional nursing guidance.
