As a Band 6 Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering safe, effective and patient-centred care within a busy surgical environment. Working autonomously within agreed protocols, you will undertake clinicalassessments,identifyandmanagerisks,andprovideexpertcareforpatientswithcomplexneeds.Usingsoundclinicaljudgement,youwillworkcloselywithsurgicalandanaestheticteamstoescalateconcernsandensurepatientsreceivetimely,appropriatecare. You will support effective patient flow across theDayCaseandSurgicalAdmissionsLounge,helpingtominimisedelays,reducecancellationsandmaximisetheatreutilisation.Thisvariedrolerequiresexcellentorganisationalskillsandtheabilitytorespondtochangingprioritiesinafast-pacedsetting. As a senior member of theteam,youwillprovideclinicalleadership,coordinatepatientactivityandsupportthesafemanagementofworkload.Youwillactasarolemodel,supportinganddevelopingBand5nurses,ClinicalSupportWorkersandstudentstomaintainhighstandardsofcare. Working collaboratively with theatre teams, bed management and surgical specialties,youwillhelpdeliverefficientpatientpathwaysfromadmissiontodischarge.Youwillalsocontributetoservicedevelopment,qualityimprovementandthedeliveryofinnovativepracticesthatenhancepatientexperienceandoutcomes.
