Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to provide Maternity cover for a Ward Manager within Sheffield Health Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. G1 Ward is a specialist ward for people who have complex dementia and associated challenging or highly distressed behaviour. It is set in a peaceful location in private grounds with staff parking facilities. The ward has 16 beds and is the only one of its kind in Sheffield. The team are currently engaged in some exciting changes which you could be part of and instrumental in leading. We are seeking dynamic, motivated individual with an interest in service development, quality improvement and a passion to ensure our service users receive high quality, compassionate care. The individual will work in close collaboration with the Senior Nurse Practitioner and Matron to ensure that the clinical priorities and standards of care are achieved.,

  • Provide effective leadership and management
  • Be a visible and credible role model
  • Develop team performance and individual personal development
  • Manage the ward/department environment
  • Deliver a safe and effective service within allocated resources ensuring the resources are used to maximum effect
  • Effectively manage budgets
  • To ensure safe and effective practice/Professional, ethical and legal
  • Act as a change agent, developing clinically effective practice through the effective utilisation and integration of evidence
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for staff, patients/clients and visitors by ensuring compliance with legislation, policies and protocols including health and safety, healthcare associated infection, risk management and critical incident reporting

    You will need to be a Registered Mental Health Nurse with experience of clinical leadership. You should be a confident, competent, and a person-centred leader with a high level of knowledge and skills with dementia care. You should be passionate with a knowledge of standards and procedures that direct and influence this system.
