Ward Host / Hostess

As a Ward Host/Hostess with Sodexo at Nuffield Health Plymouth Hospital, you'll play an important role in delivering delicious meals and a positive experience to patients, staff, and visitors. Your cheerful attitude and friendly interactions can brighten someone's day and bring comfort during challenging times. • Welcome patients and visitors with a warm, friendly, and professional approach.
• Take and accurately record meal and refreshment orders, including allergies and dietary requirements.
• Deliver meals and refreshments to patients' rooms, ensuring they have everything they need and are comfortable.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across ward kitchens, dining areas, crockery, equipment, and trays.
• Follow food safety, infection prevention, and health & safety procedures at all times.
• Monitor stock levels, rotate supplies, and complete relevant records and documentation accurately.
• Respond promptly to patient needs or concerns, resolving issues where possible and escalating when required.
  
  A friendly, caring, and professional approach with a genuine focus on patient wellbeing.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact calmly and respectfully with patients, visitors, and colleagues.
• Basic knowledge of food handling, food safety, and hygiene standards.
• A keen eye for detail, particularly when handling allergies and dietary requirements.
• The ability to stay organised and work efficiently during busy service periods.
• A positive, flexible, and team-focused attitude, with a willingness to support colleagues when needed.
• A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain one, where applicable).

• £12.71 per hour + Sodexo Benefits
• 18 hours per week
• Shift Pattern: 3 days out of 7
• Shift Times: 7 am - 1 pm / 1 p m - 7:30 pm
• Free parking on site / Meal on shift / Uniform provided / discount for gym
• Permanent contract
