(**) Ward Clerk - Day Surgery Unit

We are seeking an organised and approachable Ward Clerk to support our Day Stay Unit team at Southend Hospital on a part-time basis. This is an important administrative role, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the department. If successful, you will provide comprehensive administrative and clerical support to the Day Surgery Unit team, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the department. • Provide a professional and courteous reception service to patients, relatives, carers, visitors, and members of the multidisciplinary team.
• Answer telephone calls promptly and appropriately in accordance with Trust telephone protocols.
• Receive, communicate, and relay messages accurately and in a timely manner to the appropriate staff member.
• Respond to routine enquiries, both face-to-face and by telephone, within agreed limits and seek assistance when required.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, carers, colleagues, and other departments to support the delivery of patient care.
• Demonstrate a professional, compassionate, and customer-focused approach when interacting with patients and visitors.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clinical and non-clinical staff across the Trust.
