Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Ward Clerk to join our Team here at UHCW.

The post holder will be joining our Performance & Informatics (P&I) department who are well respected and the largest of our corporate services. The P&I portfolio encompasses Business Intelligence &Informatics, Information Systems Development, Clinical Coding, Data Quality and Patient Access. P&I work cross functionally to support the Trusts operational delivery of both national and internal targets which ensures the highest standards of patient care are delivered. A robust Performance Management Framework is embedded across UHCW that tracks and evaluates progress and supports both operational and clinical governance frameworks. New opportunities at a nationallevel are being developed by P&I in areas of health inequality, waiting list management and system working.

As a Ward Clerk you will be expected to:

Act as the first point of contact for dealing with routine enquiries and take action as necessary liaising with others as appropriate. This includes reception cover duties during working hours.

Communicate with staff, patients and/or external organisations using appropriate methods., Maintain both manual and electronic filing systems and databases, as required by the department and Trust policies, ensuring all documents are accurately and appropriately archived.

Maintain an efficient and comprehensive administrative service, including photocopying, providing support to the departments and other team members as requested.

Utilise relevant Trust EPR systems, as determined by the role, ensure all relevant patient data is collected and input accurately in line with Trust guidelines.
