Ward Clerk

The Ward Clerk plays a key role in the effective and safe running of the Surgical Assessment Unit by providing comprehensive administrative and clerical support. Working at the centre of a fast-paced, high-turnover clinical environment, the post holder acts as the main point of contact for patients, relatives, and the multidisciplinary team. As the first point of contact for many patients and relatives, you will help set the tone for their care journey--providing reassurance, clear communication and a welcoming presence., The Ward Clerk is responsible for managing patient administration processes including admissions, transfers, discharges, and the maintenance of accurate patient records across electronic and paper systems. They support patient flow by coordinating communication with wards, theatres, diagnostics, bed management, and support services, ensuring timely progression of care.
