Ward Administrator

To provide comprehensive and confidential administrative and clerical support to the Day Surgery Unit Team in accordance with the departmental and Trust standards. To keep a well organised system and ensure processes are kept up to date to aid smooth patient care from admission to discharge. To provide support and guidance to all colleagues internally and externally in and professional and informed manner., The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

A vacancy have arisen within the Day Surgery Unit at the Churchill Hospital or a full-time Ward Administrator. We are looking for a motivated individual who would enjoy working in a challenging busy environment providing a comprehensive administrative service. The post holder will work closely with patients coming into the Unit and all relevant staff members. The applicant must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively deal with a diverse range of people in a sensitive and confidential manner. Good organisational and IT skills are essential and experience of EPR (Electronic Patient Records) would be an advantage., The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to team work, and to have a flexible approach to working hours with covering for your team members with sickness and annual leave. You will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills and an ability to work independently as well as part of a small admin team.,

• Good general education with excellent literacy, attention to detail and communication skills.
• Good level of IT skills., NHS experience or experience in a customer service environment.
• Proven ability to work as a team member.
Desirable criteria
• Previous experience working in a healthcare setting.
• Administrative and EPR experience., Accurate attention to detail.
• Excellent telephone and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Flexibility in approach to work and the changing needs of the service/team.
• Able to adopt a sensitive approach to difficult situations when dealing with patients and relatives., Excellent Customer Service Experience
