- Waking Night Residential Childcare Support Worker

- Salary: Up to £14.60 per hour (Qualified Support Worker salary is based on the proven existing completion of a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent)
- Specific Hours: 20:00pm- 8:00am (12 hour shifts)

We're now looking for a Casual Waking Night Support Worker to support the physical, emotional, and social development of the children and young people in our homes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Stay awake and alert for the full night shift
- Ensure children's safety and wellbeing throughout the night
- Provide empathy, reassurance, and support when needed
- Support personalised bedtime routines and occasional activities
- Keep accurate computer-based records
- Follow the Philomena protocol for missing children
- Communicate with out-of-hours services and handle calls professionally
- Follow all Area Camden policies and act as a positive role model
- Contribute to the home's values and adapt to children's changing needs
Essential skills required
- Strong teamwork, energy, and enthusiasm
- Knowledge of safeguarding children
- Able to follow tasks, record handovers, and maintain policies
- Good written and verbal communication
- Able to listen, engage, and act appropriately with children
- Organised, with good planning skills
- Willing to work toward a Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification (if not already held)
