Full Job Description

Part-time (22.5 hrs per week Mon, Tue & Wed) We're looking for a people-focused, organised, and enthusiastic Volunteer Coordinator to support and inspire our incredible volunteer community at Canterbury Cathedral. Why this role? You'll be at the heart of our visitor experience building relationships, coordinating rotas, and ensuring every volunteer feels valued, supported, and confident in delivering unforgettable experiences. What you'll be doing as a Volunteer Experience Coordinator

  • Be the go-to person for our volunteers, offering support, guidance, and encouragement
  • Create and manage rotas to keep everything running smoothly
  • Help recruit, train, and develop volunteers
  • Ensure high standards across safeguarding, training, and visitor engagement
  • Work closely with our Visitor Experience team to deliver outstanding service
  • Champion inclusion, accessibility, and community spirit

    Experience working with volunteers or teams in a people-facing setting
  • Strong organisational skills
  • A warm, approachable style with the ability to motivate others
  • Confidence using IT systems and managing records
  • A passion for creating welcoming, inclusive environments
