VOG911 Personal Assistant

This is a live-in position to support me in my home for two full weeks (14 days) at a time, followed by two weeks off. That is, two weeks on/two weeks off pattern. Assisting me with every aspect of daily living. You will have your own bedroom and living space but you are expected to be available throughout your two-week shift. Food, snacks, drinks etc are provided for you., All aspects of personal care from assistance to use the toilet, showering, brushing teeth, maintaining appearance, dressing
Preparation of nutritious vegetarian-based food
Serving and ensuring 3 meals daily are provided, including snacks in between
Monitoring hydration, ensuring I have sufficient fluid intake during the day
Providing me with company during the day, engaging me with conversation and being a companion who can put me at ease
General housework such as laundry, cleaning up after meal prep, dusting, vacuuming etc
Prompting me to take any medication, as and when required
Monitoring of any pressure sores
You will keep records of daily activities and update my nephew/family on a daily basis

Understanding dementia and its effect on an individual
Female due to personal care
Someone who can cook meals from scratch and cook a variety of meals
Ability to handle challenging situations with kindness, empathy and understanding
Someone who can commit to a live-in role and accept that during their time in work I will be their main priority
Someone with a mature and sensible approach to care
You must have an understanding and competency to know how a home is run/maintained
Ability to keep accurate records/good note-taking skills to record daily activities
Efficient with day to tasks in and around the home
Be able to initiate and hold a conversation, easy to talk to and approachable
Genuinely kind, caring, patient
You will be comfortable living in my home with the temperature set at 26 degrees

£850 per week before tax. Depending on your experience and suitability, there may be flexibility/negotiation in the weekly rate., This position is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Disclosure (Police Check), which must be completed prior to the commencement of employment. The cost of this check will be covered by the Local Authority.

All necessary checks will be conducted to verify that any candidate has the legal right to work in the UK before employment begins.

Although this is a part-time role, it is a legitimate position requiring the submission of a National Insurance number. Employment will commence under an initial trial period.

Wages will be paid on a 4 weekly basis and appropriate holiday pay will be provided.
