Full Job Description
We have a full time Visiting Officer position in our Adult Support Services - Financial Assessments and Benefits (FAB) Team, this is offered on a 2 year fixed term contract. Our role is an important part of supporting the care sector as we work with people receiving a service and their families to ensure they are fairly assessed and pay what is needed for the care they and their loved ones receive. As a Visiting Officer you will undertake financial assessments regarding people paying towards the costs of their Social Care. You will visit our customers or their financial representatives in their own homes or care settings in order to provide advice and assistance to help maximise their Welfare Benefit entitlement and to conduct financial assessments. We are looking for enthusiastic people with varying experience and knowledge across Adult Social Care. Do you have transferable skills that you can bring to the role? Full training will be provided for our successful candidates. You can be confident of becoming part of a welcoming, supportive, passionate, innovative and very experienced team.
- We are looking for people who are professionally curious and can maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- You should have financial experience with the ability to complete complex calculations. You will have an up to date working knowledge of the benefits available to the residents of Gloucestershire.
- You will be a confident communicator and should be self-motivated, pragmatic and resilient. We also want people who can be flexible and adaptable in their practice.
- You will have the ability to travel throughout the county and carry out appointments with vulnerable adults. Our values are at the heart of everything we do and how we treat each other. They provide essential guiding principles about the way that we work and set the tone for our culture, and identify what we, as an organisation, care about. To find out more about our values , please visit our website. If you hold the same behaviours and approach, then we want to hear from you! In exchange, we will provide you with full training and support to help you succeed in your role., We want to be an employer of choice, attracting and retaining excellent people to work for us, so that we can best serve all of Gloucestershire's diverse communities. Our promise to you is that we will provide an inclusive and supportive working environment that enables you to bring your whole self to work and realise your full potential. It is a legal requirement, under the Immigration Act 2016, that anyone appointed to a 'customer facing role' must be able to demonstrate an ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in fluent English. Hybrid working arrangements are available for the majority of our roles, giving teams the opportunity to work in a way that suits them, balancing service need and individual choice, with a mix of both remote and office working.
