Self-Employed | Visiting Music Teacher (Cello and/or Double Bass) | Required from September 2026 Closing date: Wednesday 29th April 2026 Inspire creativity. Nurture talent. Shape musical journeys. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated self-employed Visiting Music Teacher (Cello and/or Double Bass) to join us from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a thriving 3-18 Music Department, supporting pupils at all stages of their musical development - from beginners through to our most able and award-holding musicians. As a Visiting Music Teacher, you will inspire pupils through high-quality individual tuition, helping them to develop confidence, technical skill and a lifelong love of music. You will work within a collaborative and supportive team, contributing to a rich and varied co-curricular programme that lies at the heart of school life. About the Role Working closely with the Director of Music, you will:
- Deliver high-quality individual lessons in Cello and/or Double Bass across the 3-18 age range
- Support pupils of varying abilities, including preparation for exams, performances and scholarships
- Inspire and challenge pupils to achieve their full musical potential
- Contribute to concerts, performances and wider musical events
- Build strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
- Potentially lead or support ensembles, depending on experience and interest
- Contribute to the vibrant co-curricular life of the School You'll Bring:
- Strong instrumental expertise in Cello and/or Double Bass
- Experience teaching children and young people across a range of ages and abilities
- The ability to inspire, motivate and support pupils at all stages of their musical journey
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for working as part of a team
