Full Job Description

Are you looking for an opportunity to be at the centre of innovation in how we support our Staff where they experience violence and abuse? A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Manager to join the Clinical Governance & Quality Assurance Team at Sussex Partnership NHS foundation Trust. This is a 9 month temporary, full-time opportunity for a skilled individual, to join our established team to provide a psychologically safe space for direct contact with Staff and support the development of a centralised approach to our post incident support offer.

As the Trusts' Violence & Abuse Support Manager you will be responsible for identifying the level of impact Staff have suffered and provide an appropriate direct contact response following each incident, and to signpost to any relevant services which may support Staff. You will also deliver ongoing innovation to the centralisation of our post incident support offer, which will include engagement with Managers within Divisions and Specialist Leads and Managers across the Trust.

Our ideal candidate will have experience of creating psychological safety and aiding Staff wellbeing, as well as understanding the regulatory standards and underpinning legislation in relation to violence, abuse and Staff wellbeing.

Main duties of the job

You will assess reported incidents of violence and abuse, providing an appropriate direct contact response, which may be from an email to a face-to-face discussion depending on the impact (psychological or physical) to the Staff member. You'll provide a psychologically safe space for Staff to contact, discuss incidents, share experiences and signpost Staff to associated post incident and wellbeing services and complete feedback loops. You will keep incident records up to date with information, actions, and outcomes and support the collation of data.

You will also work with Managers within Divisions on supporting Staff and upskilling on post-incident support processes.

Your role will also support the ongoing work to innovate and centralise the Trusts offer around post-incident support being engaged with Managers within Divisions, and specialist Managers across the Trust to provide feedback, be a part of the development of systems and be a conduit for messaging across the Trust.

You will be working with a busy and passionate Clinical Governance & Quality Assurance Team which works closely with the Culture, Leadership and Organisational Development Team. You will work with a number of specialist Managers and Leads, clinical/medical Staff and administrative Staff. We foster a supportive, warm and friendly atmosphere where staff wellbeing is paramount. We support staff development and offer regular wellbeing activities and opportunities to work flexibly.
