The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role. We are looking for a student videographer for a creative photography workshop at Hulme Community Garden Centre, with a small group of adult participants with SEN/additional support needs. The event forms part of a project exploring how urban plants and photographic practice can support creativity, wellbeing and shared knowledge at the boundary between nature and the city. Working with Hulme Community Garden Centre, the project will explore participants' relationships with local plants and how hands-on photographic activity can encourage creative expression, sensory engagement and connection with the garden environment. The videographer will create a short, warm and people-focused film that shows what happened at the event, highlights the co-productive nature of the workshop, and centres participant voices. The film should show participants as active contributors shaping the activity. Final deliverables will include a short 2-minute film and a small number of social media clips, each under 1 minute, supplied as 1080p (Full HD) preferred, minimum 720p, 25 fps, MP4 (H.264)., Manchester Metropolitan University is committed to supporting the rights, responsibilities, dignity, health and wellbeing of staff and students through our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.

This role is only open to current Manchester Met students. The successful applicant will be expected to provide their own filming and editing equipment.,

  • Interest in videography, editing and storytelling
  • Some experience filming events, workshops, people or group activities. This may be through university work, volunteering or personal projects
  • Ability to edit short, engaging video content for web or social media
  • Awareness of the need to prioritise participant dignity, comfort and consent when filming adults with SEN / additional support needs
  • Ability to follow guidance from the event lead around consent, access needs and appropriate moments to film
  • Experience filming workshops, creative activities, community projects or live events
  • Experience working with, supporting or filming adults with SEN, disabled participants or people with additional support needs
  • Confidence capturing short participant reflections or informal interview-style footage where appropriate
  • Ability to identify moments that show collaboration, confidence, creativity, skill development and participant contribution
  • Experience creating short-form content for social media
