Team/Role Overview: The Commercial Cards Sales Lead will work closely with Citi Commercial Bank's (CCB) top clients, leadership, sales, and product partners across the UK, Europe, and MEA clusters. This strategic professional role drives strategic initiatives and commercialization, as well as leads complex deals. The incumbent will closely follow the latest trends in Payments / Commercial Cards and adapt them for application within their own job and the business. This role focuses on generating Cards business from CCB clients across the specified geographies. What you'll do:

  • Lead and drive sales and origination strategy for Commercial Cards within the UK, Europe, & MEA, encompassing T&E, Payables & eCommerce solutions to increase market share and client penetration among CCB clients.
  • Leverage both internal networks (Bankers, relationship teams) and external partners (Industry Partners & Card Networks) to enhance pipeline and gather intelligence of target market prospects.
  • Possess expert detailed knowledge of Citi's current and future suite of cards solutions available globally and be able to articulate the reason for any country nuances and applicability for flow/vertical.
  • Responsible, in close coordination with the Product Management team, for the development and strategic growth of the UK, Europe, and MEA clusters.
  • As an individual contributor, originate deals and manage to grow base revenues and minimize attrition.
  • Work with the product partners to ensure product offering is competitive in service, function, and price.
  • Execute and monitor development on existing wallet assessment to identify opportunities.
  • Keep track of portfolio revenues, drivers, and monitor against planned targets.
  • Use available payments data to identify specific flows to target.
  • Manage the end-to-end sales process from pre-RFP analysis, through to stakeholder management, RFP response, presentation, pricing strategy, negotiation, contracting, deal closure, and revenue ramp.
  • Build relationships with multiple contacts/departments within the Client organization to minimize dependency on a single individual and enable growth discussions.
  • Coordinate Citi's teams across the globe to deliver for the Client.
  • Ensure the broader Citi network and relationship teams (TTS Global Solution Sales, Banking) have up-to-date talking points and are positioning our Commercial Card solutions proactively with clients.
  • Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure.
  • Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics.
  • Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions, demonstrating proper consideration for the firm's reputation.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to Citi's Code of Conduct.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
  • Represent Citi at Industry conferences.

    Advanced Commercial Cards knowledge a must; acquiring knowledge good but not essential.
  • Extensive years of client-facing activity experience.
  • Experience working with CCB profile clients will be a plus.
  • Experience with credit approval process and risk discussions is desired.
  • A combination of commercial and analytical skills.
  • High energy and disciplined approach.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
