Clinical Veterinarian II Labcorp, Huntingdon, England, United Kingdom Labcorp is searching for a Clinical Veterinarian II to join their team in Huntingdon, UK. If you are looking to apply your veterinary skills in a research environment, we may be the right fit. We are a team of 6 vets and 1 vet nurse working in pre-clinical contract research, looking to replace a team member who recently emigrated. No prior research experience is required; we provide training in lab-specific veterinary medicine. Basic veterinary consultation and surgery across all species is essential. Lab animal experience is a plus. The role offers a relocation package, sign-on bonus (subject to criteria), competitive salary, a 37.5-hour work week, generous pension contributions, optional private health insurance, CPD allowance, paid professional memberships, and other perks such as an on-site gym and cycle-to-work scheme. Training on lab animal techniques and legislation is provided in-house and via accredited courses. Work is performed under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 2012. Typical responsibilities

  • Treat sick and injured animals, including cases common in a laboratory setting.
  • Advise scientific staff on veterinary matters.
  • Teach animal technicians and support staff.
  • Complete certification paperwork for imports, exports, quarantine.
  • Provide ethical support and advice in alignment with the 3 Rs.
  • Perform scientific procedures such as ophthalmology or surgery, applying expertise in anesthesia, aseptic technique, and analgesia.
  • Education Required
  • Veterinary degree and membership with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
  • Desired Experience (Not Required)
  • Significant demonstrable veterinary clinical experience.
  • Knowledge of small and large animals used in research.
  • Ability to work in a laboratory setting with laboratory animals.
