Veterinary Care Assistant - Romford

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate Veterinary Care Assistant to join us at Romford Vets for Pets. Our Romford practice is a dual site alongside our practice in Romford Gallows. Please note you will be required to work shifts at our Gallows practice as well. Our spacious surgery is purpose built to industry leading standards and has state of the art equipment including 2 dedicated operating theatres, ultrasound, in house laboratory and digital radiographs. We also have a full endoscopy unit, access to CT in one of the branches and are continually looking to invest in the best to improve the services that we can offer to our clients. Our location offers free on-site parking as well as fantastic transport links into central London in just 25 minutes and out to the Essex countryside within 20 minutes. We're looking for a team player who is willing to get stuck in, work hard, and is keen to learn. We'll provide training and support to get you going, and you'll quickly become an integral member of the team. Your tasks will include keeping the clinic clean, tidy, and organised; feeding and monitoring in-patients; running clinical tests; managing stock; handling a variety of small animals; helping set up for operations; deep cleaning all areas; speaking to clients on the phone and in person. Good verbal communication skills and basic computer literacy are essential, as well as some previous experience in animal handling. This role is working full time, 40 hours per week and 1 in 4 full weekends. There will be a mix of early, mid, and late shifts, and may also include some nights. There will be a mixed rota working from Romford Vets for Pets and Romford Gallows Vets for Pets.
