Vehicle Technician - Barking


We are recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Technician, Automotive Technician, Motor Vehicle Technician or Mechanic to join a fleet workshop in Barking. Applicants must either hold a Level 2 qualification with at least 3 years' employment as a Technician/Mechanic, or be fully qualified to Level 3, with strong servicing, repair and diagnostic experience and the right to work in the UK.

  • Location: Barking

  • Salary: £39,729 basic

  • OTE: £45,729 plus overtime

  • Hours: 42.5 hours per week - day shifts only

  • Overtime: Available as required, paid at time and a half

Vehicle Technician Role



  • Service, maintain and repair a varied fleet of cars and vans

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical vehicle faults

  • Inspect vehicles and identify required repairs

  • Complete mechanical repairs safely and efficiently

  • Ensure vehicles remain safe, roadworthy and legally compliant

  • Maintain high standards of workmanship across all repairs

  • Work closely with the workshop team to maximise fleet availability


Vehicle Technician Requirements



  • Level 2 qualification with at least 3 years' employment as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic, or a fully qualified Level 3 Technician

  • Strong servicing, maintenance and mechanical repair experience

  • Good vehicle diagnostic and fault-finding skills

  • Comfortable working across a varied car and van fleet

  • Strong focus on safety, quality and vehicle compliance

  • Reliable and able to work effectively within a workshop team

  • Right to work in the UK
