Van Driver and Logistics

To provide driving and transport services for both delivery and collection of donations, including physical moving and lifting of furniture and animal feed when required.

• Interact with customers in a courteous and positive manner, providing excellent customer service to increase customer loyalty and attract new customers.
• Manoeuvre, lift and carry furniture and domestic goods to and from vehicles, in and out of buildings and up and down stairs following health and safety guidance.
• Support on-site logistics at the Animal Centre, including the safe movement, lifting and distribution of animal feed, cat litter and other supplies between storage and operational areas.
• Promote and engage customers with Gift Aid, including completion of the Gift Aid registration.
• Ensure that only quality donations and those which conform to all relevant legislation (including 1988 Fire Safety Legislation (as amended in 1989, 1993 and 2010) are accepted for re-sale in the shop.
• Assist Shop Managers with the general handling of furniture in the shops
• Ensure people and stock are transported safely and securely and that all legal and health and safety requirements are met.
• Drive in a safe and considerate way at all times, keeping to the statutory speed limits.
• To act as courier of post, documents and cash, between the shops and the Animal Centre.
• Ensure policies and procedures for handling, movement and security of monies and stock are always adhered to and correct monitoring procedures are in place.
• To be responsible for the internal and external cleanliness of the Charity Van.
• To take responsibility for the safety and security of the van and contents whilst in possession of it.
• To report any malfunction or damage to the company vehicle immediately to the CEO.
• To be aware of gross vehicle weight and ensure that the safe limit is not exceeded.
• Undertake other driving responsibilities as required by the CEO
