An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Urology Specialist Nursing Team here at NNUH. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team of Specialist Nurses caring for patients within the Urological Speciality. This will be in the Continence, Stone and Andrology Services and includes a Trust wide remit for Continence Assessment. As a Specialist Nurse, you will provide autonomous, evidence-based nursing care across a range of specialist Urology pathways for Andrology, Continence conditions and Stone disease. You will assess patients, develop and evaluate individualised care plans, provide specialist advice and education, and work closely with medical, nursing and allied health professional colleagues to ensure seamless care. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing specialist assessment and management for patients with continence and lower urinary tract symptoms.
- Supporting patients undergoing investigation and treatment for urinary tract and renal stone disease.
- Providing specialist nursing support to patients with andrological conditions, including erectile dysfunction, male infertility and other male sexual health concerns.
- Undertaking appropriate clinical assessments and investigations within your scope of practice.
- Providing advice, education and reassurance to patients and their families, helping them to understand their condition and treatment options.
- Working closely with consultants, specialist registrars, CNS colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Coordinating care across outpatient, inpatient and community pathways where appropriate.
- Contributing to service development, audit, quality improvement and the implementation of evidence-based practice.
- Supporting and mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to the education and development of the wider nursing team.
