Full Job Description

As our Outdoor Education Teacher, you will take the lead in delivering high-quality outdoor learning experiences that promote confidence, independence and teamwork. You'll play a vital role in supporting both the academic and personal development of our pupils. You will:

  • Plan, deliver and evaluate engaging outdoor education sessions
  • Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress
  • Support children with a range of special educational needs
  • Contribute to a broad and balanced curriculum, including teaching other subjects where required
  • Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment
  • Use local outdoor environments and facilities to enrich learning experiences
  • Support pupils to develop life skills, resilience and independence

    Essential:
  • A passion for outdoor learning and education
  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally those with SEN
  • Strong understanding of health & safety and risk assessment in outdoor settings
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging, inclusive learning activities
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
  • Desirable Training & Experience:
  • Lowland Leader Award
  • Hill and Moorland Leader Award
  • Experience of leading or delivering the Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE)
