The University of Worcester is seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated University Apprenticeship Manager to play a key role in the continued growth and success of our apprenticeship provision.
Since launching degree apprenticeships in 2018, the University has developed a diverse and strategically important portfolio spanning health, education, and public services. With strong employer demand and increasing regulatory expectations, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a key area of University activity.
Reporting to the Director of Apprenticeships and Employer Engagement, you will provide operational leadership and strategic support to ensure the delivery of high-quality, compliant and impactful apprenticeship programmes. This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working in line with University policy.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Provide day-to-day leadership and operational management of apprenticeship provision across the University
- Lead and develop a small team supporting funding compliance and recruitment
- Work closely with academic Schools and Professional Services to deliver an outstanding apprentice and employer experience
- Play a central role in implementing and embedding the Universitys Apprenticeship Strategy
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements set by Ofsted, OfS, DfE/DWP and or Skills England
- Act as a key University contact for employers, partners and external stakeholders
- Lead preparations for external inspections and audits
- Oversee performance monitoring, reporting and continuous improvement
- Contribute to employer engagement, recruitment activity, and sector development
You will bring:
- Significant knowledge of apprenticeship standards, funding rules and policy
- Experience working within the apprenticeship or work-based learning environment
- Strong understanding of regulatory and quality requirements in higher education or apprenticeships
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders
- Experience of leading or developing teams and working collaboratively across organisations
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret performance and compliance data
Experience of working with employers and supporting apprenticeship delivery in a higher education context, as well as knowledge of Ofsted inspections, would be advantageous.
Why Join Us?
This is an opportunity to:
- Play a pivotal leadership role in a growing and strategically important area
- Contribute to regional workforce development across health, education and public services
- Help shape high-quality provision in a highly regulated and impactful environment
- Work collaboratively across a supportive and values-driven institution
The selection process will include: A panel interview (question and answer format) and a presentation. Candidates will be asked to prepare a short presentation in advance. Further details will be provided to shortlisted applicants.
