Full Job Description

You will become the School's specialist administrator for externally funded professional education, developing expert knowledge of Department for Education (DfE), NHS England (NHSE) and General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) funding, placement and regulatory requirements to ensure funding is administered accurately, compliantly and on time.
Working closely with Finance colleagues, Management Accountants, academic staff and external partners, you will coordinate the payment of student bursaries, administer payments to placement providers, distribute external funding and maintain comprehensive financial records capable of withstanding detailed external audit and scrutiny.
The role requires confidence in interpreting complex funding guidance, resolving queries independently and ensuring financial processes are delivered accurately and on time. You will also contribute to wider administrative support across the School, helping improve systems and processes while acting as the School's specialist adviser on externally funded student support and placement administratiosa
In addition to the responsibilities contained within the Senior University Administrator job description, this role will:
o Coordinate the administration of Department for Education funding streams relating to Initial Teacher Education.
o Coordinate financial administration relating to NHS England funded practice placements.
o Coordinate placement funding processes for General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) accredited pharmacy placements.
o Develop and maintain expert knowledge of DfE, NHS England and GPhC regulations, policies and funding requirements.
o Coordinate the accurate and timely payment of student bursaries and other externally funded support in accordance with funding body requirements.
o Work closely with University Finance to ensure payments are correctly authorised, processed and reconciled.
o Administer payments to partnership schools, NHS organisations, pharmacy placement providers and other external partners.
o Maintain detailed financial records and comprehensive audit trails to satisfy Department for Education, NHS England and other external audit requirements.
o Prepare information and documentation for internal and external audits.
o Work with Management Accountants to reconcile external funding and expenditure.
o Resolve complex enquiries relating to bursaries, grants, placements and external funding.
o Identify opportunities to improve administrative processes and ensure compliance with University and external funding body requirements.
o Support colleagues by sharing specialist knowledge of funding regulations, placement processes and compliance requirements.
We're looking for someone who has

o Significant experience in complex administrative or financial administration.
o Excellent organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
o Experience of interpreting and applying complex regulations, funding rules or statutory guidance.
o Confidence working with financial information, reconciliations and detailed record keeping.
o Strong analytical skills and the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
o Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex processes clearly.
o Experience of working collaboratively across teams and with external stakeholders.
o The ability to manage competing priorities while consistently delivering accurate work.
Experience of Higher Education administration, NHS England funding, Initial Teacher Education, professional placements or working in another highly regulated public sector environment would be advantageous but is not essential. This role accepts applications form job sharers.
