Your role: The Sun is looking to bring in first class reporters, brimming with ideas and a can-do attitude, to join Fleet Street's most dynamic operation. As a UK News Reporter, you will grow The Sun's readership by producing engaging print and digital stories, pitching exclusives, and rapidly developing breaking news. Day to day you will:

• Cover fast-moving breaking news stories with speed, precision, and adherence to legal and IPSO standards.
• Generate agenda-setting exclusives, original feature ideas, and compelling pitches tailored for print and digital formats.
• Craft engaging, entertaining copy that fits The Sun's distinctive tone and drives reader recirculation across our platforms.
• Collaborate closely with picture and video desks to maximize story impact and reach on all channels.
• Conduct interviews in dynamic situations and report live during major breaking news events under tight deadline pressure.
  
  Excellent writing skills with the ability to deliver vibrant, clean copy to tight deadlines
• Background in a busy newsroom environment with a track record of handling pressure with ease
• Fast writing and sharp basic subbing skills
• Genuine passion for all things news
• Flexible approach to working hours across a seven-day roster
• Deep understanding of The Sun brand across both print and digital platforms
• Thorough knowledge of the IPSO Code of Conduct, media law, and key ethical considerations
• Strong grasp of social media channels, SEO strategies, and digital publishing tools
