Tutor (Teaching) Intelligent Mobility Design

The School of Communication and Design explores design across a broad spectrum, from industry-focused practice and collaboration with engineering and science, to experimental and theoretical approaches.
The MA/MDes Intelligent Mobility Design programme builds on the RCA's rich history in vehicle and mobility design, exploring the profound social, cultural and technological changes shaping the future of mobility. The programme considers areas including autonomous systems, renewable power, demographic change and the evolving relationship between people and technology.
Working closely with industry, the programme challenges conventional approaches to mobility and explores new possibilities for future mobility artefacts, experiences, brands and markets.
About the role
We are seeking an outstanding vehicle or automotive designer with recent commercial experience either from an OEM or design consultancy background, to join the Intelligent Mobility Design masters programme and play an integral role within the wider Intelligent Mobility Design Centre (IMDC).
You will bring professional expertise, creativity and a passion for working with postgraduate students, supporting them throughout their design journey. You will contribute to teaching across the programme through tutorials, lectures, workshops, seminars and critiques, helping students develop ambitious and innovative design responses to the challenges and opportunities of future mobility.
You will also contribute to assessment, student support and the wider organisation of exhibitions and events, working collaboratively with colleagues across the School and the RCA.

+ A degree in a relevant discipline, ideally with a postgraduate qualification.
+ Significant professional or practice-based experience within Intelligent Mobility or a related field.
+ Experience of teaching, supervising and/or mentoring students at undergraduate or postgraduate level.
+ Experience of devising and delivering teaching, workshops, seminars, critiques or related learning activities.
+ Experience of setting and assessing student work and providing constructive feedback.
+ The ability to supervise and support Master's-level academic and design projects.
+ A commitment to creating an inclusive, positive and stimulating learning environment.
+ The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
