Full Job Description
Martin House provides free specialist palliative care to babies, children and young people with complex and life-shortening conditions. Families from across West, North and East Yorkshire have access to our care 24/7, 365 days a year, including specialist doctors. Every year we care for more than 550 families, at the hospice, in hospital and in families' own homes, as well as supporting around 200 bereaved family members. We do things differently from the exceptional care we provide to the innovative, sector leading way we fundraise and engage our communities. We are now looking for an experienced and ambitious Trusts & Foundations Team Manager to lead and grow one of our most vital income streams. This is an exciting opportunity to lead our Trusts & Foundations function, maximising core income and securing long term, high value support from charitable trusts and foundations. You'll be responsible for developing and delivering a strong funding pipeline, nurturing relationships with grant makers, and inspiring your team to achieve ambitious targets. Working closely with the Head of Major Relationships and Director of Income Generation, you'll play a key role in supporting Martin House's future plans, including redevelopment projects, by securing 5- and 6 figure grants. You will:
- Lead, motivate and develop the Trusts & Foundations Fundraiser through regular 1:1s, appraisals and performance management
- Develop persuasive and innovative funding proposals for regional and national trusts and foundations
- Build, manage and refresh a strong pipeline of prospective funders
- Secure and account managing high value grants (£50k+)
- Develop effective stewardship plans to build long term relationships
- Manage the Trusts & Foundations budget, including analysis, forecasting and reporting
- Ensure timely, impactful reporting and communications to funders
- Keep abreast of developments in the trust and foundation funding landscape
- Make best use of CRM systems to inform strategy and decision making
Our ideal candidate. This is a role for an experienced trusts fundraiser with a proven track record of securing significant grants and managing complex funding relationships. You'll be a confident people manager, an excellent communicator, and someone who thrives on building strong, long term partnerships. You will have: - Proven success in securing grants of £50k+ from trusts and foundations
- Strong financial management and budgeting experience
- Experience of developing compelling cases for support and managing funding pipelines If you're a strategic, relationship focused fundraiser ready to take the next step in your career, we'd love to hear from you.
