Trustee

TKAT is led by our CEO, Hester Wooller. Our strong Central Team plays a vital role in supporting our schools, by providing strategic direction and operational support to ensure they can focus on delivering high-quality education. In recent years, we have recruited strongly to our Board and Executive team and are now looking to grow the Board further with the recruitment of additional talented and motivated trustees who will bring expertise along with challenge and support to the Executive team. Role specification The TKAT Board brings together a strong mix of educational and professional expertise, with trustees offering a range of perspectives to support effective decision-making. The key duties of TKAT trustees are to:

• Help shape the Trust's vision and strategic direction,
• Hold leaders to account for educational and financial performance,
• Ensure effective governance, compliance, and stakeholder engagement.
Our trustees work collectively to:
• Set and review the Trust's strategic aims and objectives
• Monitor educational performance and outcomes across the Trust
• Ensure sound financial oversight, including approving and monitoring budget
• Oversee risk management, safeguarding, and statutory compliance
• Appoint, support and challenge the CEO
• Engage with stakeholders, including staff, pupils, parents, and the wider community
• Work constructively with one another and with our Members and Local Governors too, Five full board meetings per year (currently 5pm - 7pm on Wednesdays), plus an annual Strategy Day and AGM
• Trustees are also expected to join at least one committee too.
• Preparation time for meetings (reading papers, preparing questions)
• Occasional school visits
• Term of office: 4 years (which can be renewed)
