Full Job Description
The Trust is recruiting to a Trust Registrar post for a fixed term of 12 months. The post will be based at Ealing Hospital and it would be an ideal starting point for someone looking to apply for SpR training schemes. It is expected that the post holder will play a role in audit, including participating in national audit programmes, teaching and supervising juniors, gaining management experience relating to medical juniors' rota, and developing their own programme of clinical governance with guidance from their Supervisor. Main duties of the job Ward Duties The postholder will work as a member of the Orthopaedic team with F1 trainees, SHOs, ST registrars and the consultant staff to ensure high quality care of Orthopaedic and medical patients. The post holder will be encouraged to attend trauma meetings at 08:00, a few days of the week, along with the orthogeriatric and orthopaedic consultants., It is expected that the post holder will do regular ward rounds, assist with the MDT, be involved in the management of patients with peri-operative complications, guide the other junior doctors in the team and help in the weekly out-patient clinic. The post holder is expected to help the orthopaedic junior doctors when their patients need some medical input, by giving advice and through planning medical management. In addition, the post holder is expected to participate in regular audits, including the National Fracture Neck of Femur database, and be an active member of the teaching and training in the departments of Orthopaedics and Department of Medicine for Older People. - MBBS (or equivalent)
- Full registration with GMC
- Part 2 MRCP UK (or equivalent), at expected start date of post Desirable
