Full Job Description

At University Hospital Tees we have high ambitions and as a Group we are committed to delivering more together for the populations we serve. This is an exciting opportunity for ST3+ trust doctor to join paediatric team at trust registrar level. This post will involve work in an outpatient capacity at both South Tees and North Tees/Hartlepool sites in order to help with wait times and support care closer to home for families. Applications are invited from doctors with experience in both community and general paediatrics with the opportunity to develop interests according to needs of the department and personal interests

The successful applicant would contribute to our outpatient based services, supporting general paediatric clinics in both acute and community services. This may include the provision of health assessments for Children in Care, neurodisability clinics, the developing pathways including supporting Care Closer to Home. The successful candidate will be provided with opportunity to develop their specific interests subject to service/population need.

The department has a track record of supporting locally employed doctors to secure a training post or follow the CESR pathway.

At least 12 months as middle grade experience in UK NHS is essential for this post with previous outpatient clinic experience in the relevant fields.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

· Deliver clinics covering all aspects of community child health which will include assessment and follow up of children with a range of neurodevelopmental concerns including complex neuro- disabilities and associated health needs.

· Work closely as part of the local multidisciplinary teams (e.g. Physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, dietitian, epilepsy team, specialist nurses, audiology, orthopaedics, orthotics, psychology) in addition to the wider multidisciplinary teams such as genetics, neurology tertiary services and multi-agency teams (e.g. Safeguarding, CAMHS and Getting Help team).

7. Infection Control

The post-holder will ensure that (s)he follows the Trust's hospital infection prevention and control (HIC) policies and procedures to protect patients, staff, and visitors from healthcare-associated infections. He or she will ensure that (s)he performs the correct hand hygiene procedures (as described in HIC 14), when carrying out clinical duties. He or she will use aseptic technique and personal protective equipment in accordance with Trust policies. All staff must challenge non-compliance with infection, prevention, and control policies immediately and feedback through the appropriate line managers if required.
