Triage Team and Assessment Clinics Lead

Tower Hamlets (TH) Children and Adolescent Mental Health service (CAMHS) is an innovative and supportive service which consists of a number of care pathways which includes our Triage team.

The post holder will provide leadership and specialist service within Tower Hamlets CAMHS to young people and their families. This is a community-based post, located within the Triage team in TH CAMHS which offer Triage and screening for a wide variety of clinical presentations which meet our TH CAMHS criteria.

The post holder will also contribute to the ongoing development and management of the Triage team, and this is likely to include opportunities to contribute to change and developments in the Triage team and wider service. The post holder will also lead and hold oversight for the service wide assessment clinics and the interface between triage and duty in the service. The post holder will also provide clinical interventions, specialist supervision, consultation, and training.as required. The post holder will hold accountability for clinical decision making and the management of clinical risk in the Triage team and manage the assessment clinics and the interface between triage and duty within the service.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will lead innovative developments in managing wait times, triage models, as well as providing supervision and leadership to other members of the Triage team. The role will involve working with other service leads and Senior Leadership team to develop and sustain relationships with our local voluntary and third sector agencies and contributing to a culture of collaborative practice, in line with TH CAMHS clinical strategy and partnership working across TH.

The post holder will provide highlyspecialised knowledge and skills to a team of clinicians carrying out screenings within the Triage team. The post holder will demonstrate leadership and management skills that will contribute to the positive working environment and culture within the team and wider service and in line with Trust values. The post holder will contribute to providing clinical care to young people with a wide range of mental health difficulties. The post holder will alsobe expected to plan and prioritise their workload and exercise autonomous professional responsibility for clinical, management and leadership tasks including management of risks. They will work independently within appropriate clinical/professional guidelines and clinical governance. The clinical work will also include the provision of specialist advice/consultation, mental health assessment, clinical intervention, liaison with other agencies and support, supervision and teaching of staff and/or
students/trainees.
